Before you commit to anything, here’s exactly who we are, what we do, what we don’t promise, and what happens to your information if you work with us.
A PROGRAM OF COURAGE AGAINST CANCER
We’re not here to sell you something
Courage Against Cancer supports cancer patients, survivors, and at-risk individuals in the Houston area through education, community outreach, and wellness programs that improve quality of life and support recovery from cancer treatment. Everything on this site — the articles, the research, the CAC Wellness Playbook — exists to serve that mission. Not to sell a product.
We’ve been doing this a while
This isn’t a new site built around a single offer. CAC maintains an ongoing library of cancer education content — including coverage of emerging and off-label treatment approaches patients are actively researching — because patients deserve real information, not a funnel. If you landed here from an article, that article is representative of the rest of the library. Not an outlier built to lead you here.
We don’t hide the controversy
Some of what CAC covers — including patient interest in repurposed drugs like ivermectin and fenbendazole — is genuinely debated in the oncology and research community. We’d rather tell you that plainly than pretend the science is more settled than it is. Where evidence is preliminary, anecdotal, or mixed, we say so.
Evidence and anecdote aren’t the same thing
Patient stories are powerful. They’re not proof. When we talk about research, we tell you what’s actually been studied, what remains uncertain, and where the open questions are — separate from what individual patients report experiencing. If a claim can’t be traced to real evidence, we label it anecdotal. Not settled.
We don’t promise a cure
This is the most important thing on this page. The CAC Wellness Playbook is a wellness coaching program, not a medical service. It does not diagnose cancer, treat cancer, prescribe medication, or replace your oncology care team. No specific health outcome is guaranteed. Any supplement or lifestyle consideration that comes out of coaching is meant to be discussed with your own physician — not followed as a prescription. If you’re looking for a cancer cure or a substitute for medical treatment, that’s not what this program is.
What happens to your information
If you enroll in the Wellness Playbook, your intake responses, test results, and session notes are de-identified by a CAC-assigned Client ID and stored in an access-controlled system that only authorized CAC staff and your assigned coach can reach. CAC isn’t a HIPAA Covered Entity, but we hold ourselves to HIPAA-equivalent standards anyway. You can request a copy, a correction, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Choosing to let de-identified findings contribute to CAC’s cancer research database is a separate, optional consent — opting out never affects your access to coaching, and you can withdraw research consent in writing at any time without losing anything you’ve already received.
You’ll work with a real person, not an algorithm
Every Wellness Playbook client is assigned a coach — a real person, trained in CAC’s methodology, whose job is to review your test results before you ever talk, explain them in plain language, and help you build a written plan around your own goals. Coaches are not licensed physicians, nurses, or dietitians (unless separately disclosed), and they’re not your doctor — any clinical question gets referred back to your own medical team. What they are is an accountability partner and a data interpreter who responds to you, typically within 24 hours on weekdays.
There’s an actual process. Not a black box.
Enrollment starts with a coach reaching out within 48 hours. If you need testing, kits typically arrive in 3-5 business days with lab results back in roughly 2-3 weeks; if you already have qualifying results (under 6 months old, from an approved vendor), you skip straight to scheduling. Either way, it leads to a real 60-minute session where your coach walks through your results and builds a personalized plan with you — not for you — with 30/60/90-day goals. You get that plan in writing within 24 hours, built specifically to bring to your own oncology team.
Who we are, on the record
Courage Against Cancer is a registered Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“Courage Against Cancer, Inc.”), governed under Texas law. Our client agreements have been reviewed by a licensed attorney. If you’d like the full legal detail behind any of the above — pricing, refund policy, liability terms, or the research consent process — it’s available before you enroll. Not buried after.
Ready to see if this is a fit?
You don’t have to decide anything right now. The Playbook page walks through exactly what happens if you apply — no pressure to commit on the spot.
This page is for general information and is not medical advice. Courage Against Cancer’s Wellness Playbook does not diagnose, treat, or cure cancer, and does not replace your oncology care team — always talk to your doctor about clinical decisions.
